Vintage Cloisonné & Enamel Beads

All of these vintage cloisonné beads & pendants were expertly handmade.  The word cloisonné means partition or section. Each piece begins with a copper base, then delicate and thin copper strips are soldered onto it. The open spaces are then painted with colored enamels and baked 5 separate times. It is later hand-ground, polished to a flat smooth surface then gold plated. (Many of the new style cloisonné pieces skip some steps and they have raised sections.) The cloisonné beads being produced today don't come close the quality of our beads. These cloisonné beads and pendants are all vintage and available in limited quantities. They look fabulous with our old stock cinnabar and vintage porcelain beads.

This oval or egg shaped drop pendants are very striking in the gold color. There is a large red cross in the center and blue and green accents. The same design on both sides. They have large bails on the top so they can easily slip on a chain, wire, leather or cord. New/old stock in perfect unused condition, sold in pairs. They are one inch long not counting the bail.

Vintage Chinese enamel beads with the universal Yin Yang symbols. These symbols represent perfect balance. The beads are silver plated with enamel and they are a puffy coin shape. The beads come with a blue or a dark red background - you get to choose. Circa 1970's
