African Watermelon Trade Beads Venetian Striped Antique (6)

Fabulous Striped Green Venetian African Trade Beads. This color combination is called Watermelon. They are from an old broken raffia necklace.  Oval Chevron beads created in Venice in the late 1800's. These beads have green stripes over a white and red glass core . These antique beads were handmade in Venice using traditional bead making techniques. The Italians are famous for making the highest quality glass beads. They are 7-8mm in diameter with a length that varies from 10-14mm. You are getting 6 beads. Venetian Chevron or star beads are the most beautiful, recognizable and collectable of all of the African "Trade Beads".

There are a few dings and chips on these antique beads, which add to their beauty and story. Color may vary slightly.
