Mother of Pearl and Eilat Gemstone Brooch from Israel

Hand Carved Mother-of-Pearl Brooch with a green Eilat gemstone. The brooch has delicate and intricate open work carving and is from Israel. There is a large oval Eilat stone in the center.of the mother of pearl, which is a lovely creamy white color with nice iridescence. The Eilat Stone gets its name from the city of Eilat where it was once discovered and mined. It possesses beautiful shades of deep green and blue colors derived from a combination of many copper bearing minerals. The Eilat stone is the National Gemstone of Israel, and is also known as the King Solomon Stone. There are traces of a label on the back of the brooch.
