From Royal Copenhagen of Denmark, a bear cub figurine (# 21435) by Knud Kyhn. Kyhn started working for Royal Copenhagen in 1903-1910 as a painter then, from 1911-1967 he was a top designer of animal figures. He was known for his lifelike and realistic interpretation of wildlife figures. The matte glaze is very interesting; It is dark brown with golden highlights. He seemed to have a fondness for bears. Here the cub stands with his upper arms near his mouth, like he may be eating. Marked with the Royal Copenhagen logo of 3 wavy lines, Denmark, the production number, N 21435 and Kyhn's initials incised.
