Tibet Brass Meditation Mala Bead Necklace

Antique Brass Meditation Mala Bead Necklace Tibet

$2,285.00

Antique Brass Meditation beaded necklace from TibetThe japa mala or simply mala is commonly used in Dharmic religions such as Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism for counting recitations when performing japa. The brass necklace is used to direct and count the recitation of mantras during meditation. This necklace consists of 5mm small rondelle and tube brass beads in an alternating pattern. The beads are strung in a circle to represent the cyclic nature of life. They are also called 'worry beads' because counting and reciting verses while holding them calms people down. Brass was one of the first metals to be used for malas. Like copper, it is also conductive, making it a solid medium of energy transference and storage. The beads are strung on a tan cord and were purchased in Tibet in the 1960's.

  • Size: 27 inches long
