Antique Green Watermelon Chevron Trade Beads - Vintage Italian (12)

Early 20th century Venetian 4 layer green, red and white chevrons in a rondelle shape. This color combination is often called Watermelon. Fabulous Striped Green Venetian African Trade Beads in a color combination called Watermelon. They are from an old broken raffia necklace. These beads have green stripes over a white and red glass core. These antique beads were handmade in Venice using traditional bead making techniques. The Italians are famous for making the highest quality glass beads. Venetian Chevron or star beads are the most beautiful, recognizable and collectible of all of the African trade beads. We have recently purchased the estate of a bead and jewelry collector and we will be adding many more wonderful items.
