Cat's Eye Diopside Pendant Sterling Silver

This is a lovely sterling silver pendant with a black diopside cat's eye  cabochon.  It is bezel set in a handcrafted sterling silver frame. The gemstone cabochon is 19 x 13mm and domed, it is black with chatoyancy. Sometimes called a Star Diopside, it has a cat's eye effect which is caused by inclusions of fine, slender parallel mineral fibers in the gemstone that reflect light in a single band. Wearing cat's eye is believed to help ward off evil and acts as a talisman to protect against danger. The pendant has a large bail on the top that can easily slip on a cord, chain or necklace.
