Rare and lovely Schreiner daisy rhinestone brooch from the late 1950's. The flower petals are white glass navettes and are set at an angle that really brings this piece to life. The center amber colored cabochon is prong-set and the back is open, letting the light shine through beautifully. This pin measures a little over 3″ long. Henry Schreiner designed this Daisy Brooch and it is marked on the back: “Schreiner New York”. Schreiner started designing pieces for Christian Dior before opening his own business in the 1950’s. Schreiner jewelry is highly sought after by collectors.
There are some condition issues with the gold plating and to the prongs holding the center stone. Under close inspection you will see some prongs have darkened. All of the rhinestones are still tight and intact. There is also some toning to the gold on the back of the brooch. The pin is straight and the spinning clasp works perfectly. Please inspect the pictures closely. The brooch is still beautiful and you will enjoy wearing it.
